At Justine PETERSEN, you can get personalized guidance through the whole home purchase process through our HUD-Approved Housing Counseling Program. We can connect you to lenders, real estate agents, home inspectors, as well as down payment and closing cost assistance programs.
Need to work on credit first? No problem, our counselors are well-versed in credit building and will work closely with you to create a plan for home purchase. Home Buyer Education
Online Class
We’re now offering online education through eHome America!
Complete our online home buyer education class on your schedule. This class meets National Industry Standards for Homeownership Education and Counseling, which is a requirement for many down payment assistance programs. Plus, you're able to take the course in English or Spanish. The course fee is $125.00, to be paid at the time of registration.
When you have completed the on-line course, you will be instructed to reach out to Justine PETERSEN to schedule your one-on-one counseling session with a HUD- Certified Housing Counselor. Upon completion of the counseling session, you will receive your certificate of completion.

St. Louis City Owner-Occupied Home Rehab Program
Justine PETERSEN will assist St. Louis City homeowners to preserve your asset by providing up to $5,000 in forgivable funds per household to be used for eligible home repairs. Eligible homeowners must live in the City with household income at or below 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI). Interested homeowners are encouraged to complete the St. Louis Eligibility Questionnaire. Specific questions can be directed to 314-533-2411.

Eligibility for both Alton and St. Louis Programs:
- Eligible home repairs include plumbing, electrical, roof, sewer, heating and cooling, windows, or accessibility retrofits (excluding exterior ramps).*
- Property must be 1-2 units (single-family) and you must own it and reside in it as your primary residence (owner-occupied).
- You cannot owe any money to the City or be past due on your property taxes.
- You cannot be in active foreclosure.

Eligible homeowners must live in the City of Alton with household income at or below 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI). Interested homeowners are encouraged to complete the Alton Eligibility Questionnaire. Specific questions can be directed to 314-533-2411.

Justine PETERSEN will assist eligible St. Louis City homebuyers by providing $2,500 in forgivable funds to purchase their new home. Eligible homebuyers must be purchasing in the City of St. Louis and have household income at or below 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI). You may be able to use these funds in combination with other Down Payment Assistance programs. Interested homebuyers should contact us at 314-533-2411.
