JP Receives $2M Grow with Google Small Business Fund Loan and $250k Google.org Grant from Opportunity Finance Network

Justine PETERSEN was recently awarded a $2M Grow with Google Small Business Fund loan from Opportunity Finance Network (OFN) to assist Black-owned businesses recover from the impact of Covid-19.  Additionally, Justine PETERSEN received a $250k Google.org grant from OFN to support deployment and related small business services.

In March 2020, Google.org made a $5M grant to OFN, a leading national network of Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs), to enable its member CDFIs to improve access to capital for the most marginalized communities.  In June 2020, Google.org announced an additional $5M in grants and $45M in loan capital to assist Black-owned businesses.  In total, Google has committed $170M in loans and $10M in Google.org grants to CDFIs nationwide.


Justine PETERSEN’s Credit Building Nation 2020 Annual Report is Now Available

Since 2012, Justine PETERSEN has helped other nonprofits nationwide offer a safe and affordable credit building product to their clients through Credit Building Nation (CBN). To date CBN has originated over 2,400 credit building loans! In 2020, CBN and its partners saw how crucial access to financial coping products were. Save2Build loans provided savings that could be accessed to help smooth income disruptions, and credit cards provided a way to cover unexpected expenses without borrowing money from high-priced alternative financial providers.
