Client Success Story: The Informed Meetings Exchange – Keeping the Big Picture Moving Forward

Christine Busiek, founder of The Informed Meetings Exchange, knows that planning a major convention is no small feat. Her company specializes in orchestrating large-scale events for government agencies, academic associations, and progressive organizations, including well-known clients such as Planned Parenthood, the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), Veterans Affairs, and the American Studies Association.

The work is demanding, detail-heavy, and often invisible to the outside world. “People see the final event, but they don’t realize how many years of planning and coordination it takes behind the scenes,” says Christine. With a fully remote team of five employees, The Informed Meetings Exchange navigates the complex logistics of large-scale, high-impact events, proving that thoughtful planning and strategic execution are key to successful event organization.

Christine’s Business encountered significant challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic, as many events were canceled. However, Christine’s team remained committed, working diligently to adapt, maintain operations, and retain their client base. Recent changes in the political landscape have introduced additional pressures, with reduced funding and shifting priorities affecting many of the progressive organizations they support. Despite these difficulties, The Informed Meetings Exchange has shown remarkable resilience.

Christine credits Justine PETERSEN for being part of that support system. “I appreciate the JP family,” she says. “They’re invested in the St. Louis community and always willing to help small businesses like mine. That kind of support matters.”

With consistent growth and a business model based on word-of-mouth referrals, particularly from unions and academic circles, The Informed Meetings Exchange remains a vital partner in movements that influence policy, equity, and justice nationwide.

Juneteenth Run in Delmar Tomorrow!

Juneteenth, celebrated annually on June 19th, commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. The holiday marks the day in 1865 when Union General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas, proclaiming freedom for all enslaved people, over two years after Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation.

The delay in enforcement was due to factors like the lack of Union troops in Texas. Juneteenth symbolizes the resilience of African Americans and is a time for reflection, education, and celebration of their culture through gatherings, parades, music, and traditional foods.

In recent years, Juneteenth has gained recognition and was officially designated a federal holiday in 2021, highlighting its significance in American history. It serves as a reminder of the ongoing struggle for equality and justice, encouraging activism and advocacy for civil rights. Ultimately, Juneteenth honors the past while inspiring a commitment to a more inclusive and equitable society.

This Saturday, there will be a Race for Reconciliation starting at 5900 Delmar Boulevard, beginning at 8:30 AM. Please check the flyer to register and see the rest of the day’s festivities.
