From All of Us at Justine PETERSEN: Standing With Our Community After the Tornado

JP Launches Tornado Relief Drive to Support St. Louis Families

In the aftermath of the recent tornado that swept through the St. Louis area, many families in our community are facing serious hardships. In response, Justine PETERSEN has launched a Tornado Relief Drive, and we’re inviting both our JP Family and Clients to join us in helping our neighbors in need.

We are currently collecting essential items, including non-perishable food, clothing, baby supplies, and hygiene products. Donations can be dropped off at the Justine PETERSEN office, or—if transportation is a challenge—we’re happy to coordinate a pick-up.

All collected items will be delivered to a local charity working directly with families impacted by the storm.

Donation Deadline: Wednesday, June 4, 2025
Drop-off at the JP Office or request a pick-up
Contact: abarnes@justinepetersen.org or your counselor

Our hearts go out to everyone affected by last week’s tornadoes across the St. Louis region. We are praying for your safety and the well-being of your loved ones, neighbors, and communities.

In the face of devastation, St. Louis always finds a way to come together. In that same spirit of support and resilience, we want to share ways we can all make a meaningful impact, whether it’s by donating, volunteering, reporting damage, or sharing helpful resources.

Many places and homes around the metro area are still in need.

Together, We Are #StLouisStrong.

Whether you are giving, volunteering, or simply checking on a neighbor, we thank you for being part of the recovery. Let’s continue to support each other through the days and weeks ahead.

Let’s come together to lift our community during this time of recovery. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, will help bring hope and relief to those who need it most.

Scam Alert: Protect Yourself After Tornado Relief Efforts

In light of the recent severe storms in the St. Louis area, Black Wall Street #314 is urging community members to remain vigilant against potential scams targeting those affected by the disasters. Unfortunately, scammers often see such situations as an opportunity to exploit the generosity and vulnerability of others.

How Scammers Operate

Be cautious of various methods scammers might use to reach you, including:

– Phone Calls: Unscrupulous individuals may call pretending to be from legitimate organizations.
– Texts or Emails: Phishing messages may appear to come from trusted sources, asking for donations or personal information.
– Door-to-Door Visits: Beware of individuals going door-to-door soliciting help, as they may not be who they claim.
– Fake Mail Solicitations: Look out for fraudulent letters requesting donations for disaster relief.

If you suspect fraud, it’s crucial to act quickly. You can report any suspicious activity to:

– FEMA Disaster Fraud Hotline: 1-866-720-5721
– Email: disaster@leo.gov
– Additionally, file complaints with the FCC and FTC if you receive scam calls or messages.
