Yesterday, April 3rd, 2025, marked a monumental occasion as Ozella J. Foster-Robinson cut the ribbon on her and her family’s new funeral home at 4100 Dr. Martin Luther King Dr. This moment was not just the culmination of years of hard work but a testament to her unwavering dedication and faith.
Established in July 2008 in St. Louis, MO, Foster’s Services for Funerals, LLC has been providing dignified and professional funeral services for nearly two decades. With over 35 years of experience in the funeral industry, Founder and Chief Managing Officer Ozella J. Foster-Robinson has built a business committed to serving the community with compassion, professionalism, and affordability.
In 2021, Ms. Foster-Robinson came to Justine PETERSEN and obtained a Grow with Google loan. This crucial funding helped propel her vision forward, enabling her to create a space that would better serve families in their times of need. Now, standing proudly along MLK Dr., this new funeral home is the first new business on the street in 20 years—a remarkable milestone for both Ozella and the community.
Mayor Tishaura Jones of the City of St. Louis was in attendance and made wonderful remarks, as well as assisted with the ribbon cutting. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was a powerful and emotional event. A chaplain present at the ceremony used the word “predestined” to describe the occasion, and indeed, it was. From the moment Ozella set her mind on this goal, she pursued it relentlessly, guided by faith and perseverance.
As I stood before the gathered crowd to share a few words, I couldn’t help but reflect on the magnitude of what she had achieved. Her journey serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration. In her speech, Ozella shared a key piece of advice that resonated with all in attendance: Never go into anything, especially something this monumental, alone. It was a reminder that success is built on community, support, and faith.
This ribbon cutting is only the beginning for Ozella J. Foster-Robinson. As her vision continues to unfold, she stands as a trailblazer, proving that with determination and resilience, dreams can become reality.
