Sanctuary in the Ordinary (SITO) Receives a $500,000 CDA Grant for Community Development!
Our Affiliate partner Sanctuary in the Ordinary (SITO) has been awarded a substantial $500,000 grant as part of the Community Development Association’s Neighborhood Transformation program. This generous funding injection will bring new life to a neglected 4-family apartment on Ashland Ave, situated in the revitalizing JeffVanderLou Neighborhood.
What makes this achievement even more important, is that it signifies a significant milestone in SITO’s affiliation with Justine PETERSEN, which was initiated earlier in the year. These organizations are actively contributing to the rejuvenation of the community.
Jeff Buck, in sharing his thoughts, expressed, “We are standing at a transformative point for SITO. This, our sixth grant from the city, is indicative of strong support of our mission. Additionally, it’s wonderful that we can be part of the amazing revitalization happening in the JeffVanderLou neighborhood being lead by Tabernacle Community Development”.
Like SITO and JP, the Tabernacle Community Development Corporation is committed to empowering the community by investing in its people and investing in revitalizing the infrastructure. SITO’s mission is to continue developing affordable housing that residents can truly be proud of and happy to call home. Just as JP builds assets and transforms lives, SITO is focused on creating opportunities that uplift individuals.
Together, we’re building strong communities, stable environments, and valuable assets that have the power to transform lives for the better.
As we look ahead, this serves as just the beginning of an extraordinary journey towards the transformation of the neighborhood!
Exciting News for Justine Petersen: $15 Million New Market Tax Credit Awarded
Justine Petersen is excited to announce that it has received a $15 million allocation through the New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) Program. This program aims to boost economic growth in distressed communities by attracting private investment through federal tax credits to investors.
This substantial funding will help fill financing gaps for various projects, supporting job creation in crucial sectors such as manufacturing, retail, and technology. Additionally, it will improve access to important public facilities like healthcare, education, and childcare services, promoting a more resilient and prosperous community.
With this investment, we here at Justine Petersen are able to continue our mission to make a meaningful impact, revitalizing neighborhoods and enhancing the quality of life for residents. We are looking forward to the opportunities that lie ahead as we utilize these funds for lasting change.
