The JP UP Date: Change-Oriented

Andrew BarnesThe JP UP date

Number 282                      July 12, 2024                            St. Louis

Recently, we have updated and refined our organizational value statements to ensure they reflect our ongoing commitment to excellence and innovation.

Our value statements are (J)oy for the Impact, (P)eople-Focused, (H)ard-Working, (R)esponsible,  and (C)hange-Oriented. These five values define JPHRC and represent our core identity. Today, we come to our final letter, “C”.  The letter “C” focuses on being Change-Oriented, embracing changes that come, and creating opportunities for growth from the inside of our organization, to the outside in the community.  We extend our gratitude to Claire Schell for her invaluable assistance with these initiatives.

We firmly believe in the power of change to unlock new possibilities and create lasting impacts. Our commitment to staying optimistic about what’s possible fuels our drive to seek innovative solutions and take calculated risks. Change is not just a buzzword; it’s a core value that propels us toward building a better future for our community and partners.

The Power of Optimism

Our optimism serves as the foundation for our change-oriented approach. By maintaining a positive outlook, we can envision a future filled with potential and opportunities. This mindset allows us to tackle challenges head-on and find better ways of doing things. We are not afraid to take risks if it means discovering more effective methods and solutions. Our goal is always to improve, innovate, and grow.

Creating Opportunities for Long-Term Impact

Change lies at the core of creating lasting impact. We aim to generate new opportunities that benefit not only the present but also future generations. Whether through innovative financial solutions, strategic partnerships, or community-driven initiatives, our focus is on sustainable growth and development. We recognize that real change requires time and commitment, and we are committed to investing in initiatives that produce significant, long-lasting benefits.

Building Multi-Generational Wealth and Partnerships

Our approach to change is rooted in the belief that true progress involves building wealth and partnerships that span generations. We are committed to fostering long-term relationships both internally and externally. By prioritizing these connections, we aim to ensure our efforts have a lasting impact. Our partnerships are built on trust, mutual respect, and a shared vision for a better future. This collaborative spirit enables us to create meaningful, multi-generational wealth and opportunities for all involved.

While we embrace change, it’s important to clarify what this value does not represent. Change is not pursued for its own sake. We do not make changes that disrupt our mission or values without a clear purpose and benefit. Additionally, we never deprioritize relationships that lack an existing connection. Building and maintaining strong relationships is essential to our success, and we honor these bonds as we navigate the path of change.

Our change-oriented mindset is a testament to our commitment to innovation, growth, and long-term impact. We stay positive and curate new opportunities that benefit our community, clients, and partners. As we strive to build multi-generational wealth and, continue to build strong relationships, we ensure that our efforts today pave the way for a brighter, more prosperous tomorrow.

Celebrating Disability Pride Month: Embracing Ourselves and Each Other

July is Disability Pride Month, a time dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the unique identities, experiences, and contributions of individuals with disabilities. This month is not only about physical disabilities but also encompasses mental disabilities, emphasizing the importance of acceptance and inclusivity for all.

Disability Pride Month serves as a reminder that we should embrace who we are and honor the diversity of those around us. It’s a time to stand in solidarity with those who may not look, talk, or identify like others. It’s about recognizing that our differences are a vital part of what makes us unique and valuable.

TLC’s song “Unpretty” beautifully encapsulates this sentiment, reminding us to find beauty within ourselves and reject societal pressures that make us feel undeserving, unpretty, or inadequate. The song encourages us to take pride in ourselves, regardless of external opinions or judgments.

This month, let’s celebrate our strengths and differences, and encourage others to do the same. By fostering a culture of acceptance and understanding, we can create a more inclusive and supportive community for everyone.
