Recently, we have updated and refined our organizational value statements to ensure they reflect our ongoing commitment to excellence and innovation.
Our value statements are (J)oy for the Impact, (P)eople-Focused, (H)ard-Working, (R)esponsible, and (C)hange-Oriented. These five values define JPHRC and represent our core identity. This week, we begin with the letter R, focusing on being responsible with every client we encounter and in everything that we do to provide excellence in our community. We extend our gratitude to Claire Schell for her invaluable assistance with all of these initiatives.
Upholding Responsibility: Our Commitment to Excellence and Integrity
Being responsible is important to us. It means that we always keep our promises to our clients, partners, and team members. We also take the lead in finding ways to make our services better without waiting for problems to get worse. Responsibility isn’t just a value – it’s the foundation of everything we do. We set high standards for ourselves and our partners, ensuring that every action and decision reflects our unwavering commitment to excellence and integrity. Here’s how we live out this value:
Following Through on Our Commitments
Responsibility means keeping our promises. We make sure we deliver on our commitments to our clients, partners, and team members, building trust and solidifying our reputation as a reliable organization.
Taking Initiative for Improvement
We don’t wait for problems to escalate or for others to point out areas for improvement. Instead, we proactively identify opportunities to enhance our services, processes, and outcomes. By taking initiative, we continually evolve and better serve our community.
Owning and Learning from Mistakes
Mistakes are inevitable, but how we handle them sets us apart. At Justine PETERSEN, we own our mistakes and view them as learning opportunities. This approach fosters a culture of continuous improvement and resilience.
Being Trustworthy Stewards of Financial Resources
We are entrusted with significant financial resources to fulfill our mission. We manage these resources with the utmost care and transparency, ensuring they are used effectively to create a positive impact. Our stewardship reflects our commitment to accountability and fiscal responsibility.
The shared value of being responsible is what drives our actions and decisions in our organization. It ensures that we remain accountable to our mission, our partners, and the communities we serve. By upholding this value, we continue to build a legacy of trust, excellence, and positive impact. e make mistakes, we own up to them and use them as chances to learn and improve. We’re careful with the money we’re given and always make sure it’s used in the best way possible. While we believe in taking responsibility, we also believe in working together and giving helpful feedback instead of blaming others. Upholding responsibility is a team effort at Justine PETERSEN – it’s what keeps us on track and helps us make a positive impact in the communities we serve.
Beating the Summer Boredom!
This month is dedicated to embracing the spirit of Anti-Boredom, a time to break free from the monotony of our daily routines and infuse our lives with excitement and novelty. Often, the repetitiveness of our tasks can make us feel like we’re on autopilot, going through the motions without truly engaging our minds or bodies. To counter this, it’s essential to engage in activities that challenge our brains, invigorate our bodies, and stimulate our cognitive functions.
Here are some ideas to help you and your family make the most of Anti-Boredom Month:
Explore New Hobbies

Dive into something you’ve always wanted to try but never found the time for. Whether it’s painting, gardening, knitting, or learning a musical instrument, discovering a new hobby can be incredibly fulfilling and provide a great sense of accomplishment.
Culinary Adventures at Home

Instead of dining out or ordering takeout, why not experiment with cooking at home? Try your hand at new recipes from different cuisines around the world. Cooking can be a fun, creative, and rewarding activity for the entire family.
Get Active with a New Sport

Physical activity is a fantastic way to break the boredom cycle. Consider taking up a new sport or physical activity, such as tennis, swimming, or even yoga. It’s a great way to stay fit, have fun, and maybe even meet new people.
Cultural Excursions

Swap your usual movie night for a visit to a museum, art gallery, or historical site. These outings can be both educational and inspiring, offering a fresh perspective and a chance to learn something new.
Realistically, the possibilities are endless. Remember, the goal is to step out of your comfort zone and try something different. Whether it’s joining a book club, taking a dance class, or exploring nature trails, the options are limitless. Embrace the opportunity to rejuvenate your mind, body, and spirit with new experiences.
This Anti-Boredom Month, make a conscious effort to break free from the routine and discover the joy of new adventures. Your mind and body will thank you!

Teamwork Makes the Dream Work: A Justine PETERSEN Success Story
LaTrisha Gandy, a dedicated team member at Justine PETERSEN, was conducting a credit-building session with a client when she discovered that the client and her family were living in an extended-stay hotel in Hazelwood. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, LaTrisha sprang into action.
It just so happened that SITO, a partner organization, had a two-bedroom unit available. LaTrisha quickly arranged an interview with the client, conducted a thorough review of her credit and criminal background, and found out that she was working with one of their partner agencies, Diamond Divas.
With the help of her colleagues and partner agencies, LaTrisha was able to secure housing for the client within one week of the initial introduction. The teamwork and collaboration between Justine PETERSEN, SITO, and Diamond Divas made it possible to provide a safe and stable home for the family.
To make the transition even more special, the client received “Welcome Home” supplies donated by Webster Groves Presbyterian Church. The joy and relief on the client’s face were a testament to the power of community and teamwork.
This heartwarming story is a perfect example of how, when we come together and support one another, we can make dreams come true.
