Join Us Tomorrow, Saturday, June 24th at the Black Homeownership Caravan!
Tomorrow, Saturday, June 24th is going to be a day for organization, activism, and of course some celebratory fun! The Black Homeownership Caravan, a parade to celebrate Black Wealth and Homeownership, kicks off at 10:00am at the Urban League Headquarters at 1408 N. Kingshighway. It will then pass through the neighborhoods of Academy Sherman Park, Kingsway East, Kingsway West, Hamilton Heights, Wells-Goodfellow and drop into Wellston Loop. Caravan assembly begins at 9:00am, where we encourage all to bring family and friends, or be a spectator along the route. In partnership with Realtist of Metropolitan St. Louis, Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis, U.S. Bank, and Young Voices with Action the caravan centers around homeownership as a major key to wealth and financial asset-building. The goal of the Black Homeownership Caravan is to create a spotlight on the importance of Black Homeownership and generational wealth building in our St. Louis City and County neighborhoods. The parade’s conclusion will lead into the Black Wall Street Festival in the Wellston Loop, where participants can engage with access to homeownership resources such as down payment assistance, mortgage financing, home improvement assistance, and more. We hope you’ll join and rally with us in celebration of Black Wealth and Homeownership!
