SBA Awards Justine PETERSEN with $200k PRIME Grant

Justine PETERSEN is again a proud recipient of a PRIME (Program for Investment in Micro-Entrepreneurs) grant award from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).  The SBA issued $7.2 million in PRIME grants to 38 organizations nationwide to bolster technical assistance and training services to economically disadvantaged businesses, rural small businesses and foreign language-speaking entrepreneurs.  Justine PETERSEN’s $200,000 grant will further JP’s human-centered service delivery model to rural Missouri businesses in need.

Justine PETERSEN Welcomes Penny Hollis

Justine PETERSEN is excited to welcome Penny Hollis to our expanding Illinois team as Senior Business Associate. Penny will be assisting the Illinois team in a variety of ways including loan application processing and pipeline management, engagement and facilitation for loan closings, and portfolio management through payment support. Being deeply rooted in the credit union lending industry, with a particular focus on automobile products, Penny will be invaluable to the JP team in supporting our Illinois clients as well as lending her expertise to our team that administers the DRIVE auto refinance program.  “JP came knocking,” stated Penny, “and I knew it was what I was supposed to do because of the team here and being part of something that truly helps people.” When not being a critical component to the JP Illinois team’s success, Penny can be found doing anything and everything with her source of joy: her family.

Justine PETERSEN Team Members Attend Mayor’s Business Luncheon

Returning for the first time since the pandemic, St. Louis City Mayor Tishaura Jones hosted the annual Mayor’s Business Luncheon this past week at the Marriott St. Louis Grand in downtown St. Louis. Justine PETERSEN team members Marcus Bolden and Solomon Chandler attended the program where a variety of advocates, businesses, and entrepreneurs in the region were recognized. Among those receiving accolades was JP alum, Freddie Lee’s Gourmet Sauces as one of three Businesses of the Year. Deborah and Freddie Lee James, Jr. founded the company in 1986 and the company has experienced tremendous growth, as well as expansion in recent years. You can find their sauces for purchase in a number of stores across the St. Louis region, including Schnucks, as well as online.

25th Anniversary Block Party Pic of the Week!

We were truly blessed by the presence of Captain Garon Mosby of the St. Louis Fire Department and his team at our block party last month, as they provided a sprinkler for frolicking amidst (partial pun unintended!) and overall support and goodwill. Captain Mosby gave the MOST inspiring remarks from our party stage. THANK YOU CAPTAIN MOSBY!  THANK YOU ST. LOUIS FIRE DEPARTMENT!
