Give STL Day is Thursday, May 5th!

Give STL Day is next week!  Justine PETERSEN is again participating in the annual Give STL Day on Thursday, May 5th. This is a day where you can make a difference in the lives of local small business owners, first-time homeowners and those who seek to become more economically empowered. Your gift to Justine PETERSEN is exponentially leveraged through our asset-building products and services. That is, whatever the size of your contribution, it ultimately translates to significant dollars that help equip individuals in facing the financial realities of the marketplace.

Visit www.givestlday.org/justinepetersen to pre-schedule your donation today! And THANK YOU!

Justine PETERSEN Welcomes Tiffany Ware

Justine PETERSEN recently welcomed Tiffany Ware as our new Director of People and Operations.  Tiffany has been a dynamo of activity, from navigating the ins and outs of insurance provider coverage to on-boarding new employees.  Responsible for “all things HR!” (her exact words – and punctuation), Tiffany oversees JP’s hiring process, benefits coordination and is also the primary contact for staff technology needs.  As Tiffany stated, “As an HR professional, I am oftentimes a mom, therapist, listening ear and so much more – but I wouldn’t trade it for the world!”

A friend of Tiffany’s heard about the opportunity with JP and thought it would be a great fit for her. “JP is a great place to work, and I am excited to see not only what I can learn from the company, but what skills, knowledge, and abilities that I can bring to JP,” noted Tiffany.

Outside of the office, Tiffany enjoys spending time doing arts and crafts with her 8 year-old daughter, who is “smart, artistic and sassy!”

Justine PETERSEN Welcomes Kristen Willis

Justine PETERSEN recently welcomed Kristen Willis to our Central Illinois Team. Thrown feet first into our Springfield market under the exacting tutelage of JP staffer Tristan Brown, Kristen not only has kept her head above water, but she’s swam laps at an exponential clip as it relates to learning our full process of loan intake, application and post-closing duties.

As Asset Building Counselor, Kristen will offer the full array of JP financial asset-building products and services, including small business microloans, personal small dollar loans (Life Loans) as well as credit builder loans and secured credit cards.  Kristen will also be active in community outreach – fostering and stewarding various partnerships with peer organizations and institutions.

What attracted Kristen to JP? “THIS IS SO HARD TO PUT INTO WORDS because it’s many things,” stated Kristen, “I will just say that my mom told me recently that she always thought I would be a great fit at a non-profit organization. What I mean by that is I am a people person through and through. I love working with people and helping them in any way I can. I am SO VERY grateful to have been given the opportunity to be a part of this team.”

Outside of work Kristen enjoys spending time with her two daughters, ages 3 and 1 and loves doing projects around the house – especially outside when the weather is nice!

Having Your Cake and Eating It Too

This week’s edition of birthday greetings includes a belated birthday – and a pre-birthday.  JP staffer Yolanda Nelson celebrated her personal holiday last Monday and JP staffer Ivo Vukomanovic will be celebrating tomorrow, Saturday.  That said, almost every day here at JP is someone’s birthday, so we elect to celebrate on a daily basis.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY YOLANDA AND IVO!!!
