Celebrating Black History Month. Supporting Black Businesses.

February is Black History Month, and at Justine PETERSEN we recognize, celebrate, and support the contributions of Black entrepreneurs, both past and present. Entrepreneurship comes with inherent risks and challenges, and for many Black entrepreneurs, such risks and challenges have been ever so formidable.  Blazing trails in a wide array of industry, Black businesses have embodied the entrepreneurial spirit of ingenuity, endurance, and commitment.  We at Justine PETERSEN celebrate Black businesses this month, and every month.

Justine PETERSEN Welcomes Danielle Jones!

Justine PETERSEN collective staff reflection:  How did we ever make it without Danielle?  That’s right, Danielle Jones has just been with us a few weeks, but her presence has not only been felt, but appreciated.  As Intake Associate, Danielle is front and center in managing incoming client loan applications, ensuring that clients’ needs are matched with the appropriate JP staff member.  Under the tutelage of JP superhero Stephanie Slay, Danielle has been in the trenches daily, providing the utmost customer service. “I wanted to work for an organization that makes a difference in the community,” notes Danielle, “Justine PETERSEN is all about making resources available to the community.”  And what about life outside the JP office?  She and her three daughters enjoy crafting, making Slime and filming YouTube videos!

Pandemic Potion Pic (yup, yet another “PPP”)

JP staffer Solomon Chandler recently lamented the loss of Friday afternoon Happy Hours – yet another casualty of the pandemic.  A perpetual optimist, Sol hoists his G-brew this afternoon regardless of groundhog Punxsutawney Phil’s prognostication (who is, most likely, a Pittsburgh Steelers fan).
