Greencubator and New Markets Tax Credits
Justine PETERSEN’s 2018 Annual Report is hot off the presses!  It’s colorful, it’s graphically appointed and it packs a powerful punch!  2018 was a banner year for Justine PETERSEN, including the epic rehab of the future home of the Greencubator and a New Markets Tax Credit transaction that led to the largest infusion of deployable capital in the history of the organization.  JP’s impact in the community was evidenced by the closing of over 1,300 loans, totaling nearly $20M.  Awards in 2018 included SBA St. Louis and Illinois Districts “Microlender of the Year,” and our “Katie times two,” Katie Arnold and Katie Kristensen, being recognized as “Marvelous Millennial’s”  by the St. Louis Small Business Monthly.  Enjoy paging through our Annual Report here: Check Out JP’s 2018 Annual Report

JP Hosts Emerging Microlenders from Detroit
Justine PETERESEN recently convened emerging Detroit microlenders to ground the organizations in JP’s approach to embedding credit-building services in tandem with small business lending.  JP holds sacred the crucial role of credit-building as it relates to building small businesses’ overall banking profile.  Directors from ProsperUs, Southwest Economic Solutions and Michigan Women Forward participated in training and technical assistance with JP staff to learn how to build credit building products and services into their nascent small business lending capacity.

Justine PETERSEN Presents to Nexus Group
Recently, Justine PETERSEN was invited to present to a gathering of Nexus, a network of agencies that assists individuals who face barriers to employment and employers who need assistance with their hiring needs.  Often times, credit reports play a pivotal role in the hiring process – not just the credit score, but issues on the credit report that are impacting the applicant’s ability to make household ends meet, have reliable transportation, etc.  Financial stability is at the heart of being employable.  JP is excited to connect with this network; beginning in September, JP staff will be meeting one-on-one with clients at the Missouri Job Center.  Long-time JP partner Bob Lee, of the Missouri Job Center welcomed Galen Gondolfi of JP to the Nexus convening.

Get ready to party!  Join JP staff, family, friends and partners for our 1st Annual Small Business Showcase Block Party on September 27, 4 – 8:00 pm behind the JP office at 1023 N. Grand.  Several of JP’s small business clients will have their products and services available for sale, and JP food vendor clients will also have their tasty items available for snacking.  In addition to small business vendors and food trucks, kids will enjoy a bounce house and other fun activities.  Admission is FREE!  Please come shop and support JP valued small businesses!
