Cicely Moore came to Justine PETERSEN in March of 2017 looking to build her credit. She started with no active lines of credit and her credit score was zero. After working with her credit building counselor, she learned about the Aspire Entrepreneurship Initiative that JP offered to aspiring small business owners. Cicely had an idea to offer a mobile jewelry and clothing boutique but needed some guidance on how to make her dreams a reality.
She enrolled in the Aspire Entrepreneurship Initiative and completed classes that covered all different topics of owning a small business over the next three and a half months. She was able to learn a skill set that would not have been offered to her otherwise without this opportunity. She was able to come up with a business plan and get constructive feedback from successful business owners on how to further her dreams.
Soon after she completed the program, Cicely secured a small business loan from Justine PETERSEN to turn her mobile boutique into a reality. The funds that she received were used to purchase materials for her to make and sell her own custom jewelry pieces and to purchase clothing items. Additionally, after coming to JP with a credit score of zero, in less than a year she had raised her score to 670. Now, Si’Suh Girlz Wagon is currently booking parties and can come to clients to serve them one of a kind pieces of jewelry and clothing items.
