JP to Hire Housing Manager to Propel Gateway Neighborhood Mortgage Program

Justine PETERSEN seeks to hire a Housing Manager who will, as a part of their job duties, launch and propel the Gateway Neighborhood Mortgage Program, a collaborative effort among local nonprofits, banks, the City of St. Louis and JP’s CDFI (Community Development Financial Institution) Great Rivers Community Capital. The Gateway Neighborhood Mortgage will provide loans to qualified borrowers to purchase and improve homes in neighborhoods with depressed home values. The loans allow up to $75,000 over the appraised value for the purchase and renovation of homes. Participating banks will offer the loan product, providing homebuyers with consistent terms and rates on quality affordable mortgages. Homebuyers will receive homebuyer counseling and a project manager will help oversee home renovation.

The Gateway Neighborhood Mortgage is a specialized loan that opens up access to credit for families to finance homes in neighborhoods historically omitted from mortgage lending, thus allowing people to invest in themselves, their neighborhood and their future.

Legal Services of MO and Littler Mendelson Offer Employment Law Clinic at JP

As part of Justine PETERSEN’s ongoing Lunch N Learn series, representatives from Legal Services of Missouri along with staffers from Littler Mendelson offered an Employment Legal Clinic at the JP office on June 20. The engaging presentation covered an array of legal issues related to employment, from hiring to firing to minimizing risk over all. Justine PETERSEN is grateful to both Legal Services of Missiouri and Littler Mendelson for offering such a comprehensive clinic.

The JP Lunch N Learn series is financed in part through an allocation of Community Development Block Grant Funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the City of St. Louis’ Community Development Administration.

Sometimes You have to Play (Work) Hurt

The JP Team can’t afford staff being on the disabled list. Both Ankica Vukomanovic and Aja Moody remained active while they nursed their respective “boo-boo’s.” Ankica and Aja (Double AA): Never needs re-charging!
