JP Client Spotlight: Prime 55

Contributed by Yolanda Nelson

February is here, and with it comes two holidays deserving of celebration: Black History Month and Valentine’s Day. May we suggest patronizing a most delicious establishment where both events can be honored? In business since 2019, Prime 55 is a Justine PETERSEN client that’s become known for its cuisine, atmosphere, and exceptional service. Now with two locations in the Delmar Loop and Downtown St. Louis, proprietors Tony Davis and Orlando Watson, are committed to each customer’s experience being first class.

The ambience of Prime 55 evokes sophistication, making it the perfect setting to impress a loved one. In the case of its Downtown location that’s within the Le Meridien Hotel, the restaurant carries the distinction of being one of the only restaurants in the region to be Black-owned. While the gorgeous interior of Prime 55 will create a memorable experience, it’s the flavorful dishes that will keep you coming back. Several that cannot be missed are the lobster fries, Prime wings, sweet glazed lamb chops, sweet chili salmon, and the gooey butter cake. Keep in mind that if your relationship status has yet to be determined, Prime 55 also has fantastic happy hour offerings. We’d be remiss not to mention that with everyone having hot takes on service lately, one would be hard-pressed to take any issue here. Prime 55 has the most incredible team on hand to make sure your night is exactly what you had in mind. Special props go to Marquise, who took care of our own Yolanda Nelson’s family that came into town recently. Yolanda, a frequent visitor, can be caught in the act from a previous visit here.

Remember: Valentine’s Day is T -10 days. Make your reservation now!

Stories We’re Paying Attention To

Black doulas in St. Louis want Black mothers to have a voice – and healthy babies.

Black, Native American, and Alaska Native mothers die of pregnancy-related causes at a rate that’s over three times higher than white mothers. Among other things, proper care that’s more accessible by being hyperlocal to Black communities can help lower these outcomes.

This Sunday: Tatiana Gillum Presents at Financial Literacy Nights

This Sunday, February 5th is the night! Justine PETERSEN Asset Building Manager, Tatiana Gillum, will be participating in a panel conversation at Flawed Mom’s Financial Literary Night. Tatiana will be lending her experienced insight on how to acquire and build business credit and what basics to know for running your small business. A donation of any amount to Flawed Mom, which can be made here, secures your registration for the event along with the location detail. Flawed Mom is a nonprofit that is centered around supporting homeless, abused, and in transition women by providing financial and product assistance.

Mortgage Assistance for Illinois Homeowners

Happy Birthday Ankica, Michelle, and Cameron!

This week we got to celebrate three women who keep us all in check each day here at Justine PETERSEN: Finance Manager Ankica Vukomanovic, Intake Associate Michelle Markham, and Program Associate Cameron Stuhl. Each of them are always willing to contribute their helping hands where needed, and for that they’re beloved by everyone here at JP. We wish them all the most delightful weekend of continued celebrations!
