The mission of justine PETERSEN is to connect institutional resources to the needs of low- and moderate-income families in order to build assets and create enduring change.
justine PETERSEN counselors worked with new 565 families in 2008 to build good credit in order to access affordable financing. Forty-six of these families purchased homes with safe and affordable mortgages. In addition, justine PETERSEN counselors provided homebuyer education to 178 families that also purchased homes!
Foreclosures continued to plague our area in 2008. Justine Petersen counselors assisted 173 families to negotiate the foreclosure process.
justine PETERSEN senior management and staff continued to work on scaling up it micro-enterprise lending through its work with the Aspen Institute's Scale Academy. JP micro-enterprise team originated $1.75 million to 295 micro-enterprises in 2008!
Through its Community Development Financial Institution subsidiary, justine PETERSEN originated an additional $121,800 to 100 borrowers in pay day loan alternative, consumer and credit building loans.
